Camp Chef 2 Burner ProX Series

The Key Features.

Two 30,000 BTU Output Burners

When it comes to getting robust cooking power, this stove is a beast. Packing in 2-burners that deliver 30,000 BTUs of power each, it offers an unsurpassed 60,000 BTU total output.

That’s more than enough to prepare a whole family meal, fast and easy.  With this much power, this stove can easily bo water in only a matter of minutes and takes on other types of foods on a stride too.

Matchless Ignition

It can’t be stressed enough that dealing with matchsticks in humid or windy weather can be frustrating enough. Luckily, with this stove, you don’t have to go through all that.

You can simply ignite it with only the push of a button, which proves essential in saving you time as it is almost instant.

Adjustable Heat-Control

Getting the fire started is one thing, maintaining the heat you need is a completely different story. Once you have the flames on, you need to take charge of your cooking.

This is where the adjustable dials for controlling its amount of heat come into play. This function makes the use of the unit super easy and convenient by giving you much-needed control over the heat setting, especially when simmering food.

Wide Cooking Space

If there’s one thing that will blow you away in this stove, it has to be the cooking grate. Coming in at an incredible 14-inch by 32-inch space, it’s spacious enough for both the burners and easy, hassle-free cooking.

And standing at 32 inches, it is high enough so you can easily cook while standing. This is one of the many reasons it is on our best camping stoves list.

Side Prep Tables

Another feature that really goes the distance is the double side tables on the camp chef pro 2 burner stove. Located on either side of the stove, these tables offer an essential space for meal prep.

Moreover, they are located close enough to the burners, so everything is always at an arm’s length.

Triple-Sided Windshield

When you set out to cook outdoors, dealing with strong wind can become inevitable sometimes. To prevent wind from hitting directly on the flames, this stove features protective covers that shield the burners on three sides.

And even with the breeze that blows right in front of it, the flame is quite robust enough that it doesn’t easily go out.

Easy Setup

Let’s face it; when dealing with a camping stove as big as this one, the setup could easily become a challenge. But the Camp Chef Pro 2 burner stove is built with that problem in mind.

The setup isn’t that hard when you know what to do, and the whole process is super easy to understand.

You only need to flip the stove over to access a button and unlock the legs before pulling them out. Not forgetting, the legs have adjustable pegs that you can find very useful too if you are using the unit on an uneven surface.

Next, you only need to set up the windshield and stretch the side tables.

Portability is usually a concern when dealing with such a heavy, large stove, but that too shouldn’t be a big problem. Thanks to a steel handle at the back, you can have an easy time carrying this stove around despite its weight.

Besides, since the handle is made of steel, you don’t have to worry about the possibility of it breaking easily regardless of the unit is quite hefty.

Price and Compare

The price of this product is very attractive and I believe it offers good value compared with other similar freestanding 2-Burner stoves on the market, for such a quality stove I believe it offers excellent value so check out the current price here now on ==>Amazon<==

What Are The Benefits You Can Expect From This Stove?

Two 30,000 BTU output burners are definitely what you need for fast cooking. Their combined power clocks in at 60,000 BTU, giving off enough heat that can prove sufficient for cooking different types of delicious meals for your whole family to enjoy.

Matchless Ignition helps get the fire going even with deteriorating or not so perfect weather. And you don’t have to rub sticks together, the ignition is built for fast, convenient operation; usually, all it takes is to push the button.

These types of ignition work extremely well so you don’t have to go looking for matches or lighters.

Adjustable heat-control function comes in to ensure you don’t undercook or overcook your meals. You don’t even have to keep an eye on the flame all the time, just set it as you wish and leave the rest to the stove.

Whether a slow gentle simmer or a full blast for Asian-style cooking you have it all.

A wide cooking space is also worth considering, as it offers you an easy time, especially if you have a lot to prepare, in which case you might require ample space.

You can easily have two sides to a meal cooking on both burners, place a griddle plate on and those steaks or ribs will be done to perfection with ease.

Additional side prep tables are also something worth going for. Located on each side of the grate, these tables even offer the opportunity for two people to prepare meals at once.

This can speed things up and save you precious time, especially if you are falling behind schedule.

A triple-sided windshield ensures you don’t wear out your ignition by switching it on every time a strong wind sweeps by your stove and blows out the flames.

These shields form a good windbreak around the stove, they are very effective and will help protect the flames which makes for more enjoyable cooking.

The setup is very simple which is great if you don’t have time on your side. It might be a bit tricky for the first time. But as soon as you become conversant with this stove, you can have it set up and cooking in just a couple of minutes.

This is timesaving, which is a good thing if you are in holiday mode where you just want to relax and unwind and not spend too much time setting up equipment.

Portable  When it comes to portability. Handling this monster without a handle would most likely be a real struggle.

But this feature makes moving your stove where you want it a lot easier.

At around 45 pounds it is certainly not the lightest, but for transporting simply fold the legs and it becomes a fairly small package that won’t take up a lot of space.

Here’s A Tip Or Two

  1. Make sure you have enough gas in your bottle for your vacation
  2. Don’t forget to take your hose and regulator
  3. Throw the griddle plate in the car for those perfect steaks

  • It is built for versatility.
  • Easy simmering and fast cooking.
  • A large work surface ensures easy use.
  • Adjustable legs are great if you have to use it on an uneven surface.
  • Side tables offer a crucial, additional workspace.
  • Camp Chef Accessories are available.

  • There are cheaper, but this delivers plenty of bang for your buck.
  • It’s a little heavy at 45 lbs, but it won’t blow over.
  • Would be great with a latch on the side tables to secure them in place.

All said and done, it becomes apparent that the Camp Chef Pro 60X 2 Burner Camp Stove is a unit worth bringing onboard for your outdoor adventures.

This unit can be very handy if you are camping as a family or a large group. And with its fast efficient cooking power, it offers something for every outdoor enthusiast.

I am of the opinion that this is a very durable stove that will last the distance while being portable enough to use in most family camping situations, and able to produce heat for a gentle or fast cooking experience.

This is a stove that’s built to take on the worst that outdoor cooking can throw its way?

With this unit, you can keep everyone satisfied and full of wholesome delicious meals as you take on the wild. I really like it and that is why I give it a rating of 9 out of 10. Buy it with confidence that your money is well spent.

Let the adventure begin!

  1. Hi Shane – thanks for your review.  We also do a lot of camping and take the baby Weber with us.  It does the job but is incredibly bulky.. especially when trying to fit everything else in the back and the kayaks on the roof racks.  I have been looking for something a little flatter and easier to pack and store so I think this is right up my alley.  An added bonus is that I think it can allow us to leave the camp stove at home also as we can use this as an all in one.

Great site by the way, one that I have added to my favourites for some future reading (and besides, who can pass up anything written by another Queenslander!!)

    • Hello Paul, I also like the Weber and I also agree with the size, The Camp Chef does pack down into a better shape for transporting and overall a very good stove, even for patio use at home. I appreciate your kind words about my site. Thank You Shane.

  2. Great post and it is good info for us.

As you know we are very fanatic camping people, so it is a must to have a good stove for our meat.

30.000 BTU, that is so good, combined with the windshield and the ignition, is even better.

I didn’t mention about the cooking space yet, it is perfect for the 2 of us, we are huge eaters.

Thanks for sharing it, I’m going to check it out!

  3. Your page is REALLY slow!

Hey, I love that grill! I have a Coleman “road trip” brand that I thought was really nice until I saw the one on this page!

The Coleman is only 20,000 BTus total over 285 SqIn. I have loved it, but now, I’m jealous of the 448 SqIn of this Camp Chef Pro!

I can tell you that when group camping, the person in charge of burgers being able to cook 20 burgers over 12 burgers is a big deal, I don’t even want to guess the grilled potato difference. But on a five family camp out I can agree this stove has a great advantage!

Something I didn’t see is, does this thing have a thermometer? Your article (I hate the word BLOG) mentions over cooking. What is the mechanism to prevent that?

Finally, did you know that there is an adapter to use a full-size propane tank on portable units? Maybe this one, being bigger, requires the full-size tank, but if not, this is a great add-on.

Awesome article! Thanks for the advice!

We just moved half=way across the country (USA) and won’t be “group” camping soon (Because we don’t know anyone here), but when we’re ready, I’m gonna come back here to buy a better grill!

    • Hi John, thank you for your comments, you made a good choice with the road trip but yes, for size and power the Camp Chef stands out and the burgers fly off the plate. It does not have a thermometer and just keep an eye on the heat when cooking because if you walk away for a few minutes and the flame is too high your steaks will be overdone and you’ll be kicked out of the kitchen.

Good point about the 20 lb bottle adapters, however, the Camp Chef pro 60x comes ready to attach your hose to a 20lb bottle. I’m glad you liked my post.

      Thanks, Shane.

PS. I appreciate you letting me know about my site speed.

  4. That steak picture really made me hungry! I would love to do some steaks in my park too. This will work best for me as it is matchless. I can start the fire anytime anywhere! Gone are the times when I lost my matches and I could not cook a steak. The best thing is the portability. I can move around to other spots if I want to.

    • Hi Kit thank you for the comment on this article, it certainly is a good stove with many features.

      Thanks Shane.
