Jetboil Flash Cooking System – Boiling Water in Seconds.

The Jetboil Flash Cooking System – Boiling water in seconds, for preparing coffee or tea this is an amazing convenience. Within two minutes, this stove will boil two cups of water by capturing and focusing heat in a super-efficient manner.

Jetboil offers you a fun, convenient, and portable cooking solution to enable enjoyment of a hot cuppa or a warm meal when you are out and about in the woods or near the beach, or for that matter anywhere outside. I own one, use it regularly and love it.

The outside surface of this cooking system is cozy and smooth which means you do not have to worry about tearing your backpack or inflicting injuries on yourself. To make the deal sweet, this cooking system comes at an affordable price and with excellent features, you will not find a better mini stove.

The Key Features.

FluxRing technology.

This cooking system applies FluxRing technology to clip-in the cup with the burner which facilitates dispersion of heat. The stove has an aluminum bottom which makes it exchange heat effectively.

Effective wind block design.

The Metal case that surrounds the flame will also act as a wind block which will reduce losing heat and which can help you save on fuel.

Powered By Propane Gas.

Flash Personal Cooking System is powered by Propane gas in cylinders which come in small sizes for easy carrying, these canisters you will have to buy separately and are widely available.

Efficiency in Fuel Usage.

You can boil around 12 liters of water with a single small canister of this fuel. The ability to focus heat, insulation capability and wind shielding capability to ensure maximum heat output and usage.

Speedy and Effective.

This minimizes the amount of time you take to heat water which consequently saves on fuel. There is no smoke or soot left behind after cooking.

Useful temperature gauge.

Flash Personal Cooking System has a temperature gauge which proves useful in letting you know when the water is about to boil.

You will reduce the burner output when the water nears boiling which can help in reducing fuel usage. You will also prevent overheating your food or drink by monitoring the temperature gauge.

Heat Retention.

This stove from Jetboil comes with an insulated Neoprene cover around the outside area and has a nylon handle. This will ensure your drinks or food remains warm after heating it.

Safe Use Feature.

The handle and sleeve ensure you safely handle the cooking system even when it has hot contents and on the side of the sleeve the colored flash changes as the water temperature increases.

Efficient Burner.

This stove comes with a stainless steel burner which is easily adjustable to control your cooking. You don’t require a lighter to ignite the burners since there is a Piezo in-built ignition.

Instant Ignition.

With a push-button system that is proven to be very durable and reliable, this type of ignition is excellent, and one I have on a number of appliances I own.

Stabilizer tripod.

The tripod base of this personal cooking system has special clips that you can use to firmly fix any size fuel canister. It gives the entire kit stability while boiling your drink or food.

Convenient Design.

You will not have to worry about spills while trying to get yourself a nice warming drink snuggled up in your favorite tent

What Are The Benefits You Can Expect From This Product?

Lightweight.

The weight and compact design of this cooking system from Jetboil are the elements that contribute to its portability. The 1-liter cooking cup of this stove can accommodate all its parts and accessories. Overall weight is around 14-ounces which will not be a burden on your back while traveling.

Compact.

You can even carry it in your hands easily while on a camping trip without feeling its weight. Tie it to your backpack or belt. Item dimensions are: Length 4in – Width 4in – Height 7in

Multi-functional Lid.

This flash personal cooking stove has a see-through plastic lid with a hole, the design of the lid makes it serve many purposes other than acting as a cover. For one, being transparent enables you to check on the cooking progress of the contents of the cup without opening the lid.

The hole in the lid allows steam to escape and enables sipping the contents, which means it won’t spill out down your shirt front.

Measuring Marks.

There are measuring marks on the inner wall of the cooking cup which can help you estimate the water you want to boil. This helps you boil just the right amount of water for your coffee which helps save wasted gas.

Strongly Built.

Made of hard-anodized aluminum, this flash personal cooking system from Jetboil will serve you for a long time to come. This material makes it strong enough to withstand the harsh conditions out there in the natural environment. So this will save you money in the long term.

Ease of use.

Putting up and using this cooking system is easy and fast. The built-ignition makes things even smoother for you. With just a push of a button, you will light the burners fast and have boiled water within minutes.

Boil time.

Officially 2.25 minutes, but less than 2 minutes to provide you with a cup of boiling water for coffee or tea, this is an extremely important benefit as any other way apart from an electric current will take quite a bit of preparation and time.

Flash personal cooking system will take just a couple of minutes and you will have a hot beverage in your hand.

Cooking.

This stove is not meant for boiling water only. You can cook soup, coffee, chocolate milk, instant noodles or dehydrated foods which will require the addition of some water. It is insulated which ensures you don’t burn yourself when handling the cup.

  1. Thanks for the review!

My wife and I love to drive out into the countryside and mountains with the kids on a regular basis, and this product will be perfect for our mid-day coffee boost while trying to keep up with our little dwarfs (ages 11, 8, and 3). The hot meal option sounds cool as well. Do you know if there are any recipe lists for meals that can be prepared with the JetBoil? Either way, great review!

    All the best,

    Norman

    • Hello Norman, the Jetboil flash cooking system is one of the best items i have ever bought for personal use, to prepare a coffee or tea, whether  camping, picnicking, or just out in your car for the day. This is simply a fantastic item, small and compact. I don’t know about any recipes, however its more designed for beverages, although i have boiled eggs with it and also cooked oats for breakfast. You will love it. Please let me know your thoughts on it.

Thanks for the comment and have a nice day.

  2. Hi Shane,

    Great review!

We often go camping with friends and family on the beach, and until now we have always used a small pan on gas to boil our coffee in the morning. But to be honest, it’s not really practical and safety for children. I really like the idea that is secured. I do have a few questions if you don’t mind. Even though there is a handle to avoid burning the hands, wouldn’t it be safer to use a glove?
And the last question is the wind:) There are plenty of winds on the beach, especially in the evening. Will the Jetboil resist the wind or would it be best to protect it behind something?

    Thank you in advance!

    • Hi Daniella, I know how you feel I felt the same way, however, the Jetboil Flash is one of the best personal items I have ever purchased. This little cooking system will have your coffee in your hands in just a couple of minutes. The handle does not get hot and it is easy to hold, also the outside material does not get that hot that, you cant hold it with your hands. no need for a glove. It is very safe and secure, and yes, the wind will slow it down, but just protect the flame from the wind and its all good.

Cheers to a delicious hot coffee. Shane

    • Hi AV 2001, I am glad you enjoyed this product review. The Jetboil Flash Cooking System will outlast any warranty under normal circumstances, I have owned one for several years, it gets used regularly, and it still functions perfectly. Normally you will receive a 12 month warranty, however, always confirm the warranty on any product with the seller at time of purchase.

      Thanks for your comment, Shane.

  4. Hi,

You mentioned that one of its cons is you cannot cook heavy meal does that mean I can still use it to cook instant noodles or oatmeal? Or it is better use it just to boil water then transfer it to a container where you will cook your foods? I know sounds stupid but I am not sure how big the cup is to know if what Im going to cook will fit the cup..

    Is it easy to clean?

How much is the fuel and how many do you usually need for a 3 days, 2 night camping?

    Regards,

    John Greg

    • Hi John, its not designed to cook a steak on but its ideal for noodles and oatmeal also boiling eggs and of course water for coffee or tea. Its safe level is 2 cups. With oats you can just wash it out with soapy water, and a small canister will be ample fuel for 3 days camping.

This is one of my best purchases ever, i have owned this system for many years and i take it with me everywhere i might need a cuppa. You will not be disappointed.

  5. Great review. Although we don’t go camping now, we do however have three dogs and love to take them for long walks. Some places that we go have very little facilities available so having this would be amazing. I can see the benefits as this and think you for your detailed review.

  6. Thanks for sharing this post about Jetboil. While I am familiar with some portable campfire stoves, I hadn’t seen this one before. I have backpacked into high mountain lakes and camped for days. So I am not sure I would want to carry in fuel cannisters rather than using wood around camping sites. Would you recommend each person carry their own Jetboil system?

    Reply
    • Hi Glen, I am very familiar with the Jetboil system and I have never had an issue with the small canisters while camping and hiking over many years. Like you i love a campfire, however, the Jetboil comes in very handy during inclement weather or in places where firewood may be unavailable or not allowed.

I believe the Jetboil System is a personal system and they are extremely compact so i would therefore recommend each person carry their own. Thanks for the comment, Shane

  7. Wow! I live in a studio apartment and that means I do not have a kitchen. I do have a courtyard where I grill sometimes, but I’ve never been able to boil water without using the microwave….which seriously takes like 100 years (at least it feels that way). I didn’t even know that there was a quicker way to boil water. Do you think it would be safe to use inside my apartment or would it be better just to do it in the courtyard? Probably the courtyard. Anyways, thanks for all the info!

    • Hi Christy, this is a fantastic little stove to boil and heat any liquids if you use it inside make sure you’re in a well-ventilated room, but in the courtyard would be perfect. Thanks Shane.

  9. Hi Shane I always like going hunting and what I have been using is a pan which is really unsured but with the jetboil I think it’s going to solve and save me some time when boiling water when I go hunting. But my question is is it heavy in weight? You know when going for hunting you wouldn’t want to carry heavy items.
