Martin Propane Stoves Review – 2 Burner CSA Certified

The Martin Propane Stoves 2 burner 20,000 BTU propane stove, what makes these units special? and why should we consider it as a small cooking appliance for our outdoor adventures?

Let’s face it; when you embark on a camping trip, food is one of the most important things you have to consider before anything else.

However, without the right gear for cooking your supplies, even bringing along the best food would be all in vain.

The tricky part is not in deciding which method to cook your food out there; it’s actually finding the right stove that can give you the best performance under the given conditions while outdoors.

So let’s dive right in and find out what it has to offer.

The Key Features

Robust burners

What better way to start than with one of the features that matter the most as far as propane stoves go, the burners. These units come with a 2 burner design with each burner capable of producing 10,000 BTU.

Depending on your own individual needs and circumstances 10,000 BTU while a little on the low side will be sufficient heat to cook most meals while outside.

The good thing about this stoves two burners is that they are very robust, stainless steel used in the construction ensures longevity and rust-free operation for many years.

Adjustable control knobs

The knobs are easy to adjust, which makes the control of temperature in this grill very easy. Each Martin propane burner can be controlled independently by simply turning their respective knobs to set the flame right where you want it.

From a low simmer to cook eggs to high heat for that perfect steak, the variable flame is easy and convenient with the turn of the control knob.

Portability

Using your camp stoves outdoors means having to bring it along first, which is where things can get complicated if you don’t have an easily portable unit.

Well, you’ll never have to worry about that with this grill, since it’s super easy to carry to virtually any outdoor activity or event.

What makes portability and storage of this stove so easy is the compact design of this unit, as it measures 18.5 inches by 13 inches by 4 inches when folded.

This makes it easy to tuck in tight spaces in the trunk of your car or at home, also, it’s quite lightweight, with a weight of only 7.4 pounds, which shouldn’t be too heavy to carry over long distances to the campsite.

The windshields got you covered

Sometimes cooking in the outdoors can be a bit frustrating, especially when the wind decides to play games with you.

A single passing breeze won’t be much of a problem, but if the gusts are strong and persistent enough, then cooking could become almost impossible.

Thankfully, this unit comes with inbuilt windscreen panels that ensure you can continue cooking without a hitch even when the wind doesn’t subside.

With these shields guarding the flame on three sides, the wind doesn’t stand a chance, you can be confident that they will do their job allowing the flame to burn constantly.

Easy cleanup

Once the party is over, the time comes to clean the mess, which is where things can get a bit hard and messy for some. If you like easy clean like me check out my article on the best camping stove.

And if you don’t like dealing with the cleaning, don’t worry, you are not the only one, besides, with this grill, the cleaning doesn’t have to be complicated.

Thanks to its stainless steel drip tray, which is, in fact, the bottom of the stove casing you won’t be dealing with stubborn stains that can be a bit frustrating.

All you have to do after cooking is simply remove your unit’s grate and wipe it clean with a damp cloth or paper towel, some warm water, and detergent work very well, so clean it with ease.

Large cooking surface

A large cooking surface is always a great way to enjoy easy, faster and fun cooking.  The good news is that this unit comes with more than sufficient space to cook for several people without having to make them wait.

Since you can easily fit in two pots at once, you will be able to save a lot of precious time. This unit will also allow you to place a steel plate over the top of the grill to provide a wonderful grilling or barbeque experience.

Price and Compare

The price of the Martin Propane Stove is fair and I believe it offers good value compared with other similar portable stoves, check out the price here now on ==>Amazon<==.

What Are The Benefits For You

A robust stainless steel frame that this unit comes with not only looks great, but it also makes it very solid and durable.

Adjustable control knobs allow for individual variation of gas flow for simmering gently warming food to powerful high heat to produce the most succulent steak or ribs

The inbuilt windscreens on this grill come in handy at protecting the flame from the wind. Enjoy cooking without any disruption from the wind.

Another really cool benefit about the windscreens is that you can actually adjust them when placing a larger pot or pan onto the stovetop.

As a high-pressure gas stove, this unit is built to offer a remarkable performance when it comes to fast and efficient cooking.

Thanks to its versatility, you can use it with different types of gas tanks, even the bigger 5-pound tank would work just fine.

When you are not using your stove at the campsite, this unit is also safe for use in the house, which can be very handy in times of emergency.

Thanks to its splash guards, you never have to worry about messy cooking even when using this unit in a rather tight space like an RV.

Besides the fun that this unit offers, it also ensures your safety since it is built to ensure no propane gas leaks ever happen as long as you set it up properly.

You can easily adjust the wind panels outwards when cooking with larger pots, creating enough room without necessarily having to put up with disruption from the wind.

This grill comes with every part you need to attach standard 16oz gas canisters to it, so you won’t have to buy additional ones down the road.

Here’s A Tip

  • For simple storage and carrying, grab an old backpack to keep it in, then just throw it on your back to carry it to the campsite.

  1. The windscreen panels sound like an important feature. I never would have thought of that. Until of course I was camping and it was windy.

your website has a lot of very thorough reviews who are all of the different types of portable stoves. Do you think this stove is the best one in its price range?

Also it is a bit of a different topic but do you recommend keeping a thermometer in the cooler? Are there any good thermometers for using in your cooler when you are camping? Or do any coolers exist that have that as a built-in feature? Thanks!

    • Hi Charles, I am glad you like my site and yes the windscreen panels do a great job in helping keep the wind at bay. The price being around $60 is quite reasonable for a 2 burner stove with 20,000BTU and the other stove I like at this price point is the Stansport 2 burner Stove at 20,000BTU, its hard to pick the best, but I think the Martin is a little more solid in construction where the Stansport has a larger following. Overall two very good affordable 2 burner stoves.

As for the Thermometer, I have never used one in a cooler and I don’t know of a cooler with a built-in thermometer but they may exist. Thanks for your comment, cheers, Shane.

  2. Amazing little stove! I’m a long-haul trucker that really hates to pay to eat out, since the time i got this stove, I eat as good as I do at home (beautiful isn’t it). I use it to cook two to three meals a day and can average a week out of a cylinder. My Dad always said Trucking ain’t what it used to be in those days, true statement (lol) when I can cook a pumpkin pie in the big truck!

    Awesome review Shane.

    • Hi Jordan, I know what you mean, I also hate paying top price for second class food when I’m on the road, not as a Trucker but as a traveler. These are amazing small appliances that really work well when you’re on the move. Pumpkin Pie sounds great.

      Thanks for your comment, Shane.
