Outdoor Adventures can be many things, and something everyone in the family can enjoy, right from a youthful age to a ripe old age. You have probably experienced outdoor adventures with your own family while visiting friends or traveling with organized groups.
The Girl Guides or Boy Scouts and a host of similar groups are devoted to this pursuit. They are great organizations for younger people who may not have the opportunity to do so otherwise.
Reinvent your family life and plans for the future.
Every individual has goals and ambitions. In the same way, a family can have aspirations and goals. Some of them are common to all family members, and other goals are individual. One of the main goals of the family is to help each other achieve better results than they could get by themselves.
When you have nature around you and your family, or maybe you are sitting beneath a million sparkling stars. It’s a good time to dream, to fantasize, and plan for the future.
Also during the day, there are numerous family camping activities to enjoy, and as the day draws to a close, the fun doesn’t have to stop when the sunsets.
Take the time to create new goals and plans for their success. Kids should learn their goals and dreams are very important, very real and also very achievable, good strong self-belief is sometimes very hard to build on the playground.
Become inspired by nature and recharge yourself.
It’s very easy to be and feel inspired when you are outdoors, that’s because you’re in a different environment. Your whole being comes alive with the sounds, the smells, and the solitude.
Your senses are in line with the current moment because everything you see is new. As a result, your mind strives towards faster and more innovative thinking.
A perfect weekly escape from your work schedule.
Outdoor adventures mean some of the best activities you can do in your free time. I believe this could be true. I also believe getting outside regularly is much better than trying it just once, even a regular excursion to a favorite location close to home is much better than being bored around the home. Camping in your favorite tent for a weekend can be so much fun.
With plenty of people having the desire to get their families out of the city to have fun, outdoor adventures of some sort is what they choose to do. You don’t have to spend a lot of money, plus I think it is a wonderful way to simply stay healthy and connected with the environment and to be enriched by those close to us whom we love and cherish.
You and your family will become emotionally closer.
Being outside in the great outdoors is a great way of building relationships with people, as your family will be together as a group.
Every member will have their own role in whatever activity/ adventure you take them on. From the youngest upwards each will a role to play in the day to day activities of the group.
The connection with each other will build naturally as being in a close environment away from the home leaves little opportunity for private space within the group.
Cooking on an outdoor grill also gives an opportunity for bonding everyone will enjoy these wonderful occasions.
What to Do? There is any number of outdoor activities. Let’s look at 1
We cannot talk about outdoor adventures without the subject of Camping, either solo on a hiking expedition, with a friend on a weekend away or the whole family camping together for a long break. There is nothing in the world like finding and enjoying a special spot, being in contact with nature, connecting with the country, enjoying the beautiful views and breathing fresh air.
Mealtimes, cooking delicious food on a campfire cooking grill and roasting marshmallows on the open fire and waking up feeling rested after a peaceful night’s sleep under the stars. It’s certainly not for everyone, some people totally dislike it, but they are probably not reading this post.
We can’t talk about camping without talking about its benefits. The benefits and enjoyment of camping are numerous, some of the benefits can change your life for the better, and be a marvelous way for the family unit to bond and share amazing experiences. I have listed a couple below.
Eat healthier and lose a few pounds.
Many people find it very difficult to lose weight because of their tight schedules and hectic lifestyle. The sedentary lifestyle a lot of us live is not a good lifestyle. The time to get out and exercise does not easily find a place in our daily calendar. When you go camping, you will have many more opportunities to concentrate on less quantity and more healthy eating. Take a good camping stove with you and cook up some delightful healthy food.
The opportunities for exercise are there even without seeking them, just to walk through the bush moves the body in many different ways of sitting in the office, or driving the vehicle. There are numerous physical activities available to us to take part in while on outdoor adventures, we don’t really know we’re exercising.
Many campsites are located close to the water, giving campers plenty of activities to choose from. Practice water sports such as swimming, kayaking, fishing, boating, etc. When looking for a campsite for your family, try camping near the beach, or lake, you will not only get a chance of being under the stars, but the exciting range of water activities to do will keep all family members happy.
There are sometimes places to rent canoes, boats and other watercraft. The enjoyment never ceases when you are camping near the water. If fun is a requirement I’m sure camping near water will fulfill that requirement.
Another activity that can be done during camping is hiking. Hiking is a great way of doing exercise and a great way of seeing nature firsthand. Some people combine camping with hiking by selecting campsites along hiking routes.
Hiking is also a great family activity. Be sure to take a picnic from the campsite and enjoy a day-long event, you never know what adventures you may find. If you are camping in a national park, search for trails, which are very common in these areas.
How about the simple but thought engaging act of climbing a tree, it will take a child’s focus to get up there and concentration of thought to not put his foot wrong and slip and fall onto the hard ground below.
Is it dangerous? well, different people interpret things differently. Obviously, the height of the tree is a major factor, and the age of the child, but what I’m saying is we all should have a chance to climb a tree as a child, it’s great for the soul.
To many, their favorite camping activity is the campfire. Nothing seems better than sitting with family and friends around the campfire. The fire seems to hypnotize as it relaxes you. The smell of the wood smoke immediately awakens your senses that you are on another wonderful outdoor experience.
Another fun thing about the campfire is all the delicious snacks you can cook on the fireplace. Roasted marshmallows seemed to be favorite. Cooking food with your family will be fun and very tasty. The hot dogs, cooked in the camp, taste better than normal. The tea and coffee over an open fire are delicious.
The opportunity for learning is a splendid gift freely given to us by mother nature, the chance to learn some of nature’s ways, some of the majestic gardens she creates, and some of her truly amazing animals.
Also. How was that fire created, have you showed your children how to light a fire with a flint ? or a magnifying glass under the sun’s rays? These are activities and lessons that will hold them in good stead throughout their lives.
On a very serious note, it is very important you check the campground’s fire guidelines before starting a fire. You may have to source for your own wood. There may also be some tree collection rules around the site. See what Wikipedia says about campfires.
Camping can be heaps of fun and interesting, and making a decision to go camp somewhere, whether overnight or for an extended period its something everyone should try to do. Free from the distractions of the TV, alarm clocks, work, mowing the lawn, etc., you will have a wonderful time.
“The time we spend in our great outdoors, and the experiences we gain and share with each other is time added to our lives, and will make our days more Happy Days.
How about throwing some dirt or mud around. If you have a 4×4 vehicle, another favorite pastime while camping is off-roading, there are plenty of parks specifically designed for the 4×4 enthusiast, take the whole family or just a friend but the adrenaline will surely be pumping when you get out there on the dirt or sand and trying out your skills behind the wheel. But that is another story.
Do you have a story to tell? Is there something you would like to see on my site? Let me know.
