The Key Features

Twin and Queen Size

The choice is a great thing, you can decide whether you want to go for a Queen size or the Twin size depending on the size of the sleeping space that you want.

When inflated, the Queen Size bed measures 78 inches by 60 inches by 9 inches.

The Twin bed measures 75 inches by 42 inches by 9 inches so there is plenty of room to move about so the choice for the size is all up to you.

External Pump

The first thing that stands out about this mattress is the external pump, which makes inflating and deflating it fast, easy, and downright simple.

This could be the best air mattress pump for camping with the ability to inflate this mattress in less than 3 minutes, you can save a lot of time.

Time is of the essence when you’re out in the wild or at the beach and away from a mains power source. Besides, its high-power rechargeable pump can hold a single charge for up to a month.

ComfortCoil Technology

Built for durability, this tech with its I-Beam Air Coils proves to be invaluable when it comes to offering outstanding comfort and performance, with the ability to hold a weight of up to 500lbs.

This bed is made for outdoor use; hence, it also features an extra thick PVC material for withstanding pebbles and other objects that might be beneath or on your tent’s floor.

This makes it ideal to sleep on without worrying about anything pressing on your back.

Stable Suregrip Bottom

The last thing you want when sleeping inside a tent is a sliding bed, thankfully, this one comes with a sure-grip bottom so it stays put.

No matter how often you turn, this design ensures the bed doesn’t move this not only makes sleeping in it more comfortable, but it also prevents any unwanted stress on the tent walls, which could compromise the stability of your tent as well.

Durable Design

Not only the comfort that you can get with this bed, but it is built for durability too. First off, it comes with a puncture-resistant material that protects it from protruding objects on the ground.

Thus, the possibility of unwanted leaks is next to none. It also features an extra-thick multilayer design that ensures not only lasting service but also makes it super comfortable.

One thing you will need is a shelter and that is where you require the best tent for the queen air mattress, check out the Coleman 4 person tent.

Carry Bag

Using your air mattress is one thing, getting it to the campsite is quite another but this shouldn’t be a problem with the SoundAsleep air mattress.

Fortunately, this one comes with an included carry bag that you are sure to find very handy for storing and transporting your bed.

What are the Benefits You Can Expect From This Product?

Firmness is crucial in any airbed, and the SoundAsleep air bed is no exception.

The good news is, you can decide the level of firmness you want for your mattress by inflating it with the needed amount of air.

Getting in and out of as well as sleeping on the mattress is easy even when you have it aired up pretty firm.

The rechargeable pump in this mattress comes in very handy when the time to inflate your bed in the wild comes. Remember, finding an electrical outlet out there can be hard, if not impossible.

But with this mattress, you only need to make sure you bring the pump along and have it fully charged.

Best of all, the pump comes with a car charger as well as a wall charger, which means you can charge it at home or on the go.

Air retention is the other remarkable thing about this mattress. On single inflation, you can use it for about two days without having to top it off.

At holding air, this mattress does much better than most cheap options on the market.

You don’t need to use electricity to deflate your mattress once you are done using it.

If your pump battery has gone flat by the time the days of your weekend excursion are over, all you have to do is open the cap on the mattress and let it lose air all on its own.

You can then roll the mattress to fold it, which will automatically remove any residual air inside. Now, just pack it up in the carry bag and head home. The easy deflation further makes this mattress virtually irresistible

Here Is A Couple Of Tips For You

  1. Keep in mind, however, that your mattress will go through a stretching phase when you start using it for the first time. As you break it in, it is likely to lose air faster, so you can inflate and deflate it a few times at home before setting off for your trip.
  2. This mattress is made of moisture-resistant material, but it’s always wise to make sure to let it dry off before rolling it up for storage or transportation.
  3. When setting out, remember to bring the air pump with you. With its small size, you can easily misplace it or leave it behind. Fortunately, this mattress has an extra small nozzle adapter that works with most standard airbed pumps, so you can use a different one in case you don’t have the specific one on hand. But it’s always best to have your pump with you when, or if you ever need it.
  4. Put a groundsheet under any Air Bed

  1. Comes in two sizes, Queen and Twin size.
  2. Easy to inflate with the high-power rechargeable pump, and even easier to deflate.
  3. Tough enough to prevent puncture from objects on the tent floor.
  4. The included carry bag makes portability super easy.
  5. Sure-grip bottom to prevent unwanted sliding.

  1. The material may harden after months of continuous storage, compromising its ability to hold air, so keep it in a dry place.

There’s nothing quite like getting a good night’s sleep and waking up with more vigor to take on the adventures of the day.

This mattress gives you nothing short of comfortable, relaxing, and undisturbed sleep. This is a really nice mattress that we rate highly and would recommend it for all outdoor or camping use.

Since it’s built with durability in mind, it is sure to last you through several seasons, which means you don’t have to be back on the market sooner than you would like.

Whether you are heading for a camping or outdoor adventure alone or with a partner or your loved one, this is the mattress for you.

  1. Hi and thank you for a very good review on an air mattress for camping. It is of cause very important to sleep well when you are outdoors and explore nature and it seems as you have found a perfect example of this. It looks like it is very easy to manage and that must be one of the most important things when you go camping. The fact that the quality is so good that you can use it for several seasons is just one more plus so I will definitely look into this mattress. Kind regards Linda

    • Hi Linda, we felt this was a very good mattress and as you seem to be doing some research if so check out our list of Best Air Mattress as this will help with comparisons and make your decision a little easier.

      Thanks Shane.

  2. This is great, thank you.   We love camping.  We go camping at least once a year for a week or more. Otherwise we like camping on weekends, its just a bit short, but still enjoyable.  Depends on the finances… but we go camping as much as possible.

I have a question about the SoundAsleep air mattress.  How strong or thick is the material it’s made from?  The reason I ask this question is that we have had many different types and sizes of air mattresses over the years, and always the same thing happens…. a tiny sharp pebble, or a piece of wood or a tiny thorn….. all tiny things seem to puncture the ones I had very easily and quickly.  If you’re camping for like a week or two, and something punctures that mattress you are sleeping on the hard ground for the rest of the trip, or alternatively you get up many times a night top pump air…

Other than that, I also agree this is an excellent choice.  Its sleeps almost better than your bed at home.

    • Hi Marlene, yes camping is certainly a good pastime, and I know what you’re saying about air mattresses being damaged by sharp objects, this can be very inconvenient. The one thing I always do is to place a ground sheet under my gear, if I’m in a tent, a ground sheet goes underneath, same as a mattress. I have found after many years of camping and sleeping outdoors that this is the best iI can do to protect my equipment from being damaged by staking or cutting from sharp objects. The SoundAsleep air mattress is made from PVC which is not very thick but still allows comfort.

      Happy camping, thanks Shane.

  3. Hi Shane,Awesome review, I really liked the reading! We are often doing camping on the weekend with friends and family. We used to have an air mattress, but because we had such a bad experience with it, we gave up on it:) In the middle of the night, we found ourself literally on sleeping on the hard floor. Out air mattress has deflated completely:) That was the worst night I have ever had:). Anyway, I thought I would give it a try one more time but this time I want to choose a thick material. Just a question, please. Is it possible to know the thickness of the material in inches, preferably?

Thank you very much for this excellent post!

    • Hi Daniella, air mattresses are one of those products that get plenty of failures, some are because of manufacture some are bad handling and I found good and bad in most makes. There are a lot of stories like yours with people having a bad experience however there are heaps of good air mattresses in the market. In our research and review with this product, we found it to be just like the manufacturer stated, and it performed well. As for the thickness it is 9 inches.

      Thanks for the comment, Shane.

  4. In our younger days when we still had children living at home we did a lot of camping and loved it. As you point out i the article a good nights sleep is paramount to enjoying a camping expedition  and these matresses you have described sound wonderful. They would certainly beat sleeping on the ground on a thin piece of foam as we did.

They also look like they would be good to pull out when you have extra visitors too.

Just one question, “Is it easy enough to fit it back into the carry bag after you have used it.?”

    • Hi Judy aahhh those were the days eh, lol. yes, I’ve slept on some hard surfaces outdoors and now don’t go camping or touring without my comforts and a good sleeping surface is close to the top of my list. This mattress would serve you well as a spare bed for visitors however the material does not seem to like being stored for long periods of time. After a year of being rolled up the material reportedly has a tendency to crack. so something for you to be aware of.

      Thanks for your comment Shane.

  5. Looks like an excellent choice for a comfortable sleep when your out on a camping trip, I also like the way it comes in different sizes for couples etc.

You say it comes with it’s own carry bag – one question…

How heavy is it to carry once it is all packed up? Will it be easy to transport over distance?

    • Hi Chris, it would be an excellent choice for anyone looking for a single or double air mattress whether it be for outdoor camping or a spare bed in the home for visitors. Yes, it does come with a carry bag for convenience with a total weight when packed of around 13 pounds.

      Hope this helps thanks Shane.
