TETON Sports Instant Camping and Backpacking Tent

The Key Features

Easy up, easy down

The first bit that makes a tent fun to use has to be how easy it is to set up and take down. This can prove very helpful as it also helps you cut on time, so you have more time to enjoy your time taking in the scenic landscape rather than toiling away pitching your tent.

Built for just one person, this tent is small enough to make the setup easy and fast. Just roll it out, and then lock the poles in place, and pull the drawstring, and ta-da! You are ready for the night. This pop-up design is also available in a 2 person size.

It keeps you dry

Living in moist conditions inside your tent can quickly turn your fun adventure into a nightmare. And it gets even worse, especially in frigid weather, as this increases your chances of hypothermia. That’s why you need to stay dry even in bad weather for your comfort and safety.

This tent is built to offer you just that, with its standard waterproof rainfly offering you all the protection you need from rain. Even better, the Elite rainfly (sold separately) extends to the ground when using this tent with a cot, so you can get an ultimate cover from wet weather.

Awesome stargazing experience

There’s nothing quite like enjoying some lone time as you enjoy the awesome look of the night skies, and it gets even better if you can take in the starry sky while you enjoy the warmth of your tent. This is where you need a tent with the right roof design for such stunning views.

Thanks to its full mesh top, you can take in a perfect view of the stars without having to step out of your tent. But the best part is that this also means you don’t have to worry about any bugs getting inside your tent, which is a great advantage too.

Built for performance

The amount of protection you can get with your tent is among the most important factors that you need to consider when deciding the tent to go for. Most importantly, you need a tent that can take the roughest conditions that nature can throw at it.

This nice little home away from home is designed with some other extra features like the net storage space in the roof as well as allowing you to hang a lantern inside for illumination to give you the ultimate small tent.

Built as a 4-season tent will allow you to venture out at that time of the year when most campers are staying put or take a trip to high altitudes, and not have to worry about the weather’s extremes.

Easy-to-use door

Entry and exit is another aspect that you should never overlook when deciding the ideal tent to carry along on your outdoor trip. It needs to have a large door that will allow you to enter and leave the tent with ease, and make bringing in gear easy too.

And while having two doors can be awesome for larger tents, the one-door design of this one will suffice since it’s a one-person tent. But what makes the door impressive is its large size and a zipper closure design that allows for easy operation from inside or outside.

Easily portable

Portability is a very important part of the shopping checklist when deciding which tent to buy since the ease of this could mean a great deal of difference when you finally hit the road. And considering that you also have other gear to carry along, having a tent that you can carry with ease comes in very handy.

It’s the other thing this tent doesn’t disappoint at, thanks to its lightweight design that makes portability a breeze. At only 5 pounds, you can carry it to just about any adventure without any weight concerns.

Great ventilation

Another thing that makes a tent comfortable for almost any weather condition is how well ventilated it is, which means you don’t have to worry about feeling claustrophobic once you’re inside. Besides, this means no excessive sweating in hot weather or any frustrating condensation in cold conditions.

That’s where the mesh roof of this tent plays an almost irreplaceable role, helping keep it very breathable but without letting in any bugs. And if you need some more fresh air, especially during the day, then you can take advantage of the large door and keep it open.

What Are The Benefits Of This Product

The dome-shaped design gives this tent extra interior room for your air mattress or cot along with a few items, allowing you to keep everything safe inside.

The interior height is also enough for most average adults, which is a good thing since you don’t have to crawl when in there.

Its taffeta material further offers a reliable, lasting performance that makes your tent very durable, giving you a great deal of value for the money.

The green color of this tent blends in nicely with the environment, especially when using it in the woods, so if you like a tent that looks the part when camping, this is the one.

Thanks to the locking hub design, the tent stays in place even in the event of strong winds; you don’t have to worry about any surprises in the middle of the night.

You also get great flexibility when setting up your tent, as you can decide whether to set it up on the ground, or set up on top of your camping cot.

The floor stays considerably dry, especially when camping in an area with mild showers, which helps you and your gear stay dry inside.

For easier portability, this tent is very compact, packing at a mere 29.58 inches by 14.68 inches by 6.14 inches, which when combined with its lightweight design, makes carrying it a breeze.

With a double-layered construction, you get a combination of nice ventilation along with ideal protection from the elements for absolute comfort.

The quick setup is hands-down a big plus as it allows you more time for fun and takes away the stress that you might have to put up with when setting up other tents.

Questions And Answers

Question: Is the rainfly long enough to cover the tent and cot?

Answer: While the standard rainfly is sufficient for the tent when using it along with a cot, you will need to consider getting the Elite rainfly that is long enough to cover the two. This is sold separately so make a point of ordering it too.

Question: Is there a gear loft on this tent?

Answer: Thankfully, yes, it has a gear loft where you can store some of your small items such as phone, watch, maps, or wallet, a nice touch offers a bit of organization for your small items.

Here Is A Tip Or Two

  • It’s always advisable to order your tent beforehand so you can give it a test run before hitting the road. This allows you to acquaint yourself with the tent setup and find out if there’s any defect that might mean returning it or asking for a replacement.
  •  To give your tent slightly more stability, it’s wise to leave some gear inside to weigh it down if you’re expecting a significant amount of wind during the day. They should add some weight to your tent and keep it anchored to the ground in the case of gusts of wind.

Conclusion

This TETON Sports Quick Tent makes for a great addition to your luggage if you are planning a solo trip. The compact and lightweight design, along with the solid build and the breathable interior offers you an unmistakable comfort through the night.

  1. I’ve been reading here that the Teton cot is an instant setup cot as well as being comfortable. One of the things that makes a good tent, in my opinion, is that it should be easy to set up and takedown. Seeing as this is an instant tent the setup should be easy.

Second is its performance it should be durable and have a good construction. If a tent deals with these 2 points effectively, then it’s a bang for the buck. So it looks like this is my next new tent. I can’t wait to purchase new camping gear.

    • Hi Ann, the preparation and the setup could not be easier, simply remove the tent from its bag, lay it out, and pulling the right strings so to speak will have it up in seconds.

As this is an all-season tent you can be sure the performance has been built in. This is for your convenience as well as value, as being able to use this tent in a number of ways from stargazing in mild weather to keeping out heavy rain and wind.

A wonderful feature is its ability to be used with a cot so as to become a whole sleeping system up off the ground and fully enclosed. Teton has a winning product here and one that I am happy to recommend.

Thank you for your comment I appreciate it, all the best thanks, Shane.

  2. Hi There, I really like how the tent is built for performance, because most of the time the tent I would tend to purchase would then fail on me while camping. I tried finding one that is both durable and strong enough but had no luck finding something actually durable enough to last through multiple trips! But since I saw this post, I think this is a fine tent with great features, I might as well try out this tent and see how it goes!

I agree with you it needs to be durable so it will last, and I found in this Teton tent a very reliable and lightweight tent that will keep the nasty weather out and the comfort in.

I think you will love this tent, thank you for your comment, Shane.
